Dr. Venugopal obtained her bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery in 2004. She subsequently went on to complete her training in internal medicine and advanced training in endocrinology overseas, completing the final part of her training with the department of endocrinology at the Nepean Hospital in Sydney in 2015. Her qualifications include subspecialty certification in Endocrinology and Diabetes from the Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom. Dr.Venugopal had been a consultant endocrinologist with Queensland Health, working as the clinical lead and coordinator for diabetes and endocrine services in the Mackay region before moving to New South Wales. At present Dr Venugopal also has a concurrent appointment as a staff specialist at Ryde Hospital at the osteoporosis refracture prevention service.
Dr. Venugopal has extensive experience in management of diabetes along with all common and complex aspects of endocrine disorders both locally and overseas. She has professional memberships with the Endocrine Society of Australia (ESA) , European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) and the US Endocrine Society. Her areas of expertise include management of diabetes mellitus including insulin pump therapy, pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and gonadal disorders. Her special areas of interest are management of obesity, osteoporosis and steroid related endocrinopathies. She is also actively involved in research with publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
