Tien Tay is committed to providing the highest level of clinical care for rheumatic disease. He is skilled in all aspects of rheumatic disease and has a special interest in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and systemic vasculitis, including Giant cell arteritis and Polymyalgia Rheumatica.
Dr Tien graduated from the University of Sydney and undertook basic physician training in Sydney followed by Rheumatology in Melbourne, including a fellowship in scleroderma. He is a member of the International Scleroderma Clinical Trials Consortium Damage Index Working Group and has presented at local and international Conferences.
In Melbourne, he has worked as a consultant in an Arthritis and Biologic Clinic for inflammatory arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. He has also worked in an Osteoarthritis Hip and Knee Clinic and was conducted a NHMRC-sponsored study to assess synovial fluid in patients with rheumatoid arthritis compared to those with osteoarthritis.
Dr Tien is a dedicated physician committed to providing quality care. An excellent communicator, English is his first language but he is also fluent in Mandarin.
